Hi, this question is for people who are working in hospitals in nyc. Did you apply by email, fax, mail, or in person? Which method of applying seemed to get you contacted faster by the hospital? I applied online for new york presbyterian, but I kind of get the feeling that my resume isn't going to be read. If anyone has advice on how to apply, I'd appreciate it a lot!

I live in northen New York just move here work on my resumen for two weeks only to find out that the hospitals/clinics want people to apply via web later they send you a package a thick one with papers to mail to two previous employers, two personal reference, school references, credit bureau and criminal background check all has to be mail to the hospital before they even consider you for the job or grant you an interview and that is only for part time work.
best of luck

I would say You should fax the cover letter and resume...also give a follow up call in about 2 days..this is what I did and had an interview in a week. Its also good to call a secretary or something first so you can find out exactly who you are addressing your fax to (nurse recruiter by their name) so you did your research.
Oh yah, I did the presbytarian thing and changed my mind I dont think they were concerned with me or my resume..found a place a bit smaller and well I got a job.
