Applying for medicare # with history of disciplinary action, will I get denied?

Published

Hello all,

I'm hoping someone will shed some light on this process? I am a recently new NP and this will be my first NP job. I was disciplined by the nursing board for "professional misconduct" that resulted in disciplinary action against my RN license. That being said, I was forunate enough to get a NP job in a small primary care office. I am in the process of applying for medicare provider # and because of my disciplinary history, will my application be denied based soley on the history?

Any input anyone can offer would be most appreciative!!

You might find it useful also to consult with a lawyer with experience in BON APN matters.

And finally, you can consult with your malpractice carrier which is a necessity as an APN.

This is an old post, but I was wondering what ended up happening for you? I am an RN recently out of probation considering NP school.
