Our school eliminated wait lists, so when you are ready and have met certain requirements you 'petition' for clinicals. They determine who gets in by your acceptance date to the program. Our program also had a 'step out' option - after your first year of clinicals you are able to take your LPN boards.
I am applying at a couple different schools. I already turned in my application with a deadline of Sept. 1 and am attending an info session for another program starting in Jan. I should know about one of them towards the first of October. Good luck to everyone out there... I know the wait is tough.
I applied to start in Fall of 06 but was not accepted. So I am waiting to see if I will be accepted to start Jan 07. I should find out the first week of November! :w00t:
This time the wait is not as excruciating as the first. Maybe because I am UNFORTUNATELY used to it? Or maybe it is because if I do not get in, I actually have a plan B (I plan to finish up my BSN pre-reqs and reapply). Good luck everyone! We will wait together!
i applied to two schools this time around (3rd time).
i find out then end of sept, and mid oct.
just trying to stay busy, but the first waking thought i had today is " i sure hope i included my transcript" i know i did, but you can't help but obsess when you know this is your one shot.
good luck to everyone! i know it's a hard road, but from all the nurses i know, it's worth it.

I am just curious as to who has/is applying for a Jan 2007 start.
I have and am waiting to hear the news. We were told 122 people petitioned for clinicals and they accept 60. We are supposed to find out by Oct.
