Hi,
I am about to start my pre-reqs to get into the Nursing program at my school. My father in law is friends with someone who works at a Walk In Clinic and said he could find out who I'd need to talk to to get a part time job there for experience.
They said they're hiring Saturday help, but he didn't ask what position or any of that. Considering I have no medical-related experience at all and haven't even started nursing school, I imagine the only thing I could do is work the front desk, which I'm fine with. The problem is that they want a resume and all my experience is in Communications. I am unsure about what to say my objective is, since I don't know what position I'd be eligible for. What would you say? I was always taught to put the job title for the job you're applying for in the objective on your resume.
Thanks for any help!

If you can't put a specific job title in your objective, then sum up what you just said! You're a student looking to get into nursing and want some experience in the field. Obviously written on a more professional level. On the other hand, you could ask your father in law more about it, or call the clinic and ask a receptionist.

Once you get through your fundamentals including vital signs and injections, you may be able to do a lot more than just front desk work. I went to school with people who worked in a walk-in clinic and they were able to triage and give injections. I'm sure it depends on your stage. Good luck!
