World Registration

im a second taker for nclex, i applied jus last year april and took he exam januray of this year, and now i re applied and asking for my cases, but i heard that they are requiring you to go back to school cozz theory and clinical rotations are not concurrent,do you know any school that accepts that case?coz im having hard time to look for school in california... and any idea if they apply this to retakers?

thank you

Best thing to do is LVN-RN bridge program, but you have to work on the pre requisite subjects first. There's no hope to get in to the nursing program with those 2 subjects only because there are lots of nursing students in a waiting list. And one thing more,My evaluator says that they want a US transcript to be send to the BRN by the school and thats impossible to happen because the school wouldn't issue a new transcript.

Don't lose hope,we can do it!God bless us:)

Where do you plan to apply now?? I don't understand I applied last year February and they let me take the exam... But some applied 2010 and they didn't give them ATt so weird...

What is ces?? And what state have you decided? You know if WA is state or dc!

These strict requirements weren't fully implemented until early 2011. Many applicants in this link have posted their problems.

I'm not sure that it's DC. It would most likely be Washington State because. It's best to call the state you really want to work at. Pick 5 states and narrow it down. Do you see yourself living in that said state and working there and maybe perhaps starting over there? Once you know the states you want to work at call their board of nursing and ask for requirements of international students. Some may say "visit our website" but ask them if there are any additional requirements for international graduates. I've recently called Vermont State the one of the speakers required me to have a license in the Philippines, and an experience there. I was shocked! I called just last week. =(

New York has their own CGFNS evaluation CVS. Only New York uses this. They don't accept CES I believe. Here is a link to the CVS for more info http://www.cgfns.org/sections/programs/cvs/

If Nevada requires me to take classes then I may apply at Michigan.

To the OP, yes, as dragon_lady suggested, you can go for the LVN-RN bridge program, after becoming a Ca LVN, but just so that you know, getting into one of the CA LVN-RN programs is just as crazy and very tough to get enrolled without having to go via the private schools, which are very expensive and offers no financial aid assistance as an international student. T

The other and cheapest route is to try to enroll into a local CA college or school, but those either have a 2-3 year waiting list or if you find one with the lottery system, the preference goes to their local students. You must have passed a few English and Math testings ahead of time with no guarantees you can enroll, these testings are required of any students (local and foreign) wanting to get in their schools.

My friend who graduated last year and looking into the LVN-RN has a Filipino cousin but she is a US citizen but went to PH for her degree, is finding it very difficult to get into any bridging program, as she does not have $20-$30,000 or more to attend the private ones and on a 2 year waiting list, with no guarantees at all, since she heard that many foreign students gets pushed back further, as the priority committment is to the local CA residents, as she found out her friend and herself just got moved into the 3 year waiting list, but it's also true of some of the local students.

While the CA BON can only suggest for those with the denied applications to get their ATT to become a LVN, it's up to each person to research and look into the options to become a RN if that's their final goal.

How bout if I just Take LVN are they gonna ask for me to study again??

im just waiting for ca brn response just sent them some requirements last week and i know by the time they reply either good or bad news it will take time. My question is it okay to apply to another state using cgfns if your ca application is still active will there be any effect? im planning to apply in colorado.

thanks

Ohh so that means I have no chance of just taking the exam next time... They will require me to study;(( ugh how come my friends they didn't do it... It's their 3rd take but didn't ask for that... Soo sad... I might just transfer to a different state then;(

Yes, there are some unpredictablility within the CA BON process, it's been debated many times, it seems some were able to contest their getting their own ATT by giving the CA BON the names and license numbers of those batchmates that did pass NCLEX and in some cases, it didn't matter, the decision is already finalized and remains as is, denied.

In your case mentioned, did your friends on the 3rd take, did they apply before the 2010 deadline? If so, it could be that the BON was still working on their cases, since they are behind in going thru the application process? Or were these friend's applications from late 2011 to present?

But yes, it's a real killer to have gotten the one chance to take the exam, then to fail it and unable to re-test again. ;-(

You can take the LVN exam without having to re-study and try to find work as an LVN, but if you want to become an RN, then you have no choice but to study again to get your RN courses approved.

The bigger question, how long do you want to wait? Check out the CA nursing programs threads and you'll find so many CA pre-nursing students still trying to get a single acceptance into any schools and of those that do get in, look at their years they waited.

You can try to get the ADN degree, but it seems like trying to find a job with just that two year degree is tough, as most places are now requiring a BSN to get your foot thru the hospital door. Just know that getting into a ADN program is even tougher than the LVN schools.

Unless you don't want to work in a hospital setting and working in a nursing home, LTC or SNF or clinic is fine with you, then go for it.

There's one school mentioned (got to read all the threads) whereby there was no waiting list, but the pre-requirements were tough: need very high grades in the sciences, great letters of recommendation, high TEAS scores, high math scores, so in all, they are picking the top of the cream crop.

Also, know that getting an out of state license doesn't give you the endorsement privileges to come back into CA. Even after 5 years or more of out of state RN license and experience, you have to submit all the PH college transcripts all over again, with the understanding that the application has about a 99.7% of being denied by the CA BON.

I'm just thinking i'm gonna take up LVN while waiting to get in to a nursing program atleast i'm earning a bigger money... but i'm still thinking about it or just move to New York that's my only choice

Well you still have 2 and a half years to go so there is still hope. You should come to the sight once in a while to see what is going on. Just remember OB theories-complete your ob cases, and so on.

Wait, so private colleges don't have a waiting list? Just that they're incredibly expensive?
