I graduated high school in 2012, but when I applied to universities on CSU mentor, I remember my counselor, told me to put undecided for my major so I have more chances to getting in, because if I put Nursing I probably wouldn't have gotten accepted. so now that im going to me a Sophomore in college, and going to apply to nursing programs as well, when I apply for the universities on CSU mentor, would I put undecided? or nursing? because if I were to put undecided as my major then would I apply to the nursing program on their campus website?

I'm not sure why putting nursing as your major would prevent you from getting into the school. At most schools get accepted into the school and getting accepted into the Nursing program are to totally different processes. From my experience you have to first apply and get accepted into the school, and than apply and get accepted into that schools Nursing Program. As long as your high school GPA is good and you've met all other requirements for the school I would think that you would b able to get in without a problem.. I would speak to a counselor or advisor at the school your applying to and see what they have to say.. Best of luck to you!!!

Many schools will only allow you to apply as a Pre-Nursing major. You'll have to check with the schools you wish to apply to in order to make sure you've selected the correct major. As the previous poster said, you usually have to apply to the school and then apply to the Nursing program separately.
