Hey guys...i was wondering if anyone from NY or NJ can tell me if thereers a school i could apply now for nursing school for fall 2009. Im not sure what school is taking applications RIGHT NOW. i would like AS RN...Please Help me Please...Your Sister Dee

Not to be condescending, but if you are on allnurses, then you have internet access. The easiest way to find this out is to do a search for all the local RN programs, and visit each individual website.

Every school I have ever seen has detailed information about their application process, and their deadlines. NY and NJ should have Board of Nursing websites that will list all of their approved programs. Looking them all up will be your best bet.

Waiting for someone to post a possible lead on this board might take forever, and there might be a perfect program out there for you that no one posts.

I think if any schools are still accepting applications for Fall 2009 then it is a very small list. Most schools have very early deadlines due to the large volume of applications they do receive, especially for AS programs.

Not sure if ur gonna read this but their is one school-upstate NY that is still accepting application. Only requirement high school diploma, HS level algebra, bio and chemisty. They have about 50 seat left. No entrance test and you can take your pre-reqs w/ your nursing classes (although I would not recommend). Fully accredited and they have an excellent pass rates. They even provide transportation to clinical sites! PM for more details. I start this fall.

Wow, thanks for the info. If you don't mind me asking, what's the name of the school and what city is it in? Thanks again!

Its a 2 year RN program close to Rochester, NY. Because its in a rural area, many people who live in the city are not willing to relocate, but I am. Too much competition in the city.

I am new to this forum thing so I am not sure how to "PM". The school in close to Rochester, NY. Do u still want more info?

Hi, I'm curious too as to which school it is. I'm currently going to Brockport and am in the program for fall but my girlfriend was rejected and would love to start in the fall versus spring as she could at GCC. If you could let me know which school it is, I'd love to let her know! I was actually rejected myself at Brockprt and got in late due to an error in rejections. But for the 2 weeks I was "rejected" I checked all the freaking schools around and the only ones I could getint for fall were Roberts, Naz and St. John. All of which were too far for me, I looked at MCC and GCC but was told Spring 2010. I can't wait to hear! :yeah:I'd be soo happy to let her know! :loveya:

I searched all around and was amazed when I found this school and how easy it was to get accepted. They still have 50+ seats left for Nursing 1 (at least the last time I checked). I know what a rejection feels like  (for your friend).

I'm willing to share the information but my only concern is I don't want the infomation to be out there publically. Please don't think I'm being selfish but I don't want the admission/acceptance process to become difficult once they get inundated with applications/phone calls. I personally believe the reason why this college application process is so simple because it's literally in the middle of nowhere and very few people have heard of them.

But they are fully accredited (NLN) and consistently have high NCLEX pass rates. And the nursing faculty is absolutely wonderful! Very caring and compassionate. I'm a older student (32) so I will be living off-campus. Looking for a roommate if your friend decides to go and maybe interested. Please email me at [email protected] and I will be willing to share more. I'm not able to "pm" at this time. ;)
