I live in LA and I am trying to get my TX license. I got a DWI 11 years ago when I was 19 and a bogus public intox ticket on new years about 5 years ago. I have fulfilled all my requirements pertaining to the cases and both cases are closed. I reported everything to the TX board and now they are saying I have to pay $150 more and that it may take 6 months or more for the TX BON to investigate my "potential eligibility issues". I already have a great job here in Texas that I love, but my temporary license expires in just under 4 months. Has anyone had experience with this process?? Does anyone know of someone who had to miss months of work because of a similar issue? I am the sole bread winner right now because my wife was just laid off and naturally I am in panic mode right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you got any kind of response yet? If so, how long did it take? I am going through the exact same thing.

I am just finishing up with this process, it took the full 6 months for mine to process.

How often does their board of nursing meet? Can you go sit in front of them and talk it out? I know here in Az you can sit in front of the board when they meet and plead cases. They often are "gentler" to these types of people for taking the initiative and action to come meet with them.

How did it all work out for you? I just sent in my Endorsement application and I'm working in TX and I am the sole breadwinner too!
