Application still open/ received 1 month later?

Hi all

I applied for a "dream job" a month ago and my application still says "position open, application received" on the site.

is it safe to assume that I have not been rejected and am still under consideration? Or does this mean I was rejected? I have friends who applied to the same system who would get a "not selected" notification on the website, so I am hoping this means I am still being considered.

Could mean any of the above. Maybe the manager hasn't been able to interview yet.

You could call HR and ask if "position #______ is still open."

Could it be that they have it posted and are collecting resumes for the spot if it comes open at a later date?

Both are now closed

EDIT: as in, they are no longer accepting applications

but the job is still open, meaning it has not been filled
