Applicants to Portland area schools 2013

Hello everyone! I was an avid reader of last years articles on applying to schools here, and it really helped me get an idea of how many points I would need. I thought I'd return the favor. So far I've only applied at PCC with 54.5 points (I think). For some reason, I'm not getting any discretionary points at Chemeketa and very few at Mt. Hood, so I might just forgo them this year. Is it just me or are schools going to a model where you can only really have a chance if you take the prereqs there? Anyways, good luck everyone!!!!

Congrats Bumblebramble!! I went on a short trip and wasn't able to check up on this forum and was SO excited to see that you got in! Only about 4 people left before I get the call!! I have hope! I just hope they call soon because it will be a scramble for us newbies to the class to get books and stuff in time.

Congrats yangyang!! They moved the list a lot the last few weeks! I was not expecting this, but.. I got the call this morning!!! Going in tomorrow for meeting with *** and do all the paperwork!! I can't believe it! haha. I was seriously started to look for other schools in other states! Facebook page here I come! ha. OMG! This means I can buy workshoes!! haha. Mine are so bad and I need a new pair so bad but I knew if I got in I would have to buy the white pair so I have been waiting to hear if I get in before buying shoes so I don't end up with two new pairs and only able to wear one (since I prefer to wear black). Going to ask tomorrow if white crocs will work instead of the leather uppers. Can't wait to meet you all!

Congrats dantza ! Did you submit all immunization documentation? I am not able to get all of them until August 15th. I am out of country now and will come back next week. I am worrying about it.

I haven't checked this in a bit! Sorry for the late response! Did you get it figured out? I have all but one and I plan on turning in that this week, so I very nearly met the deadline for regulars. There isn't a "deadline" for waitlisters but the soon you get them in the better, I def would email about it. They should be understanding given you are out of country, you were waitlisted, they can't expect you to have it ALL together and be ready for a deadline that was only a week or so from the date they called you! Just give them an email.

Congratulations, rayness! I've been a lurker myself and will be in the same shoes next year. I'm finishing up my prereqs and will be applying to...well ALL of the schools possible this coming fall and winter. It is awesome that you got into nursing school at last and I wish you the best! I haven't seen any other La Grande students on here, but that doesn't mean there aren't any other lurkers who just haven't spoken up. I'd recommend running a facebook search to see if someone has made a page for your cohort. If you can't find one, take a page from "Field of Dreams," and if you build it, they will come! If any of the rest of you are still checking this page for up dates, congratulations to you all and thank you for sharing your ordeals with those of us about to go through it ourselves. Your experiences have given us strength!
