U.S.A. Oregon

How's everyone doing with their Apps?

I applied to MHCC, CCC, PCC and Linfield.

It's my first year applying and I'm a nervous wreck!!!

How long does it usually take to hear whether or not you got an interview?

I was glad to see CCC changed their deadline to Feb 15th like the other OCNE schools-I think it'll make the waiting more bearable!

Anyone else want to share points to see how tight the competition is this year?

Other than Mt. Hood, I don't get too many discretionary points. :(

Heres what I *think* I have (figuring them myself):

MHCC-63 points

CCC-50 or 51 points depending on how they round up your gpa

PCC-54 points

Good luck everyone!!!

Let the nail biting, stalking the mailbox begin! :lol2:

Anyone know of anyone not taking their spot at Chemeketa?

I just wanted to let those you you were/are on waitlists that I just got into linfield for this fall...and am starting a week late! She said that my persistence and staying in touch with her is what helped her remember me for an open spot when the time came. So I just wanted to point out that hope is out there!!:lol2:

Congrats! I was on the Linfield waitlist, and never heard anything.. Luckily, I got accepted to OHSU, so I never followed up with Linfield. I find it surprising that they don't maintain a ranked waitlist, though... Huh. This seems like good info for future waitlisters to keep in mind.

Either way, congrats again and enjoy Linfield!

Hi Airbender, I guess I'll be seeing you at OHSU as well starting at the orientation on the 15th.

kmd,

Yes! I'm so excited to start...Have you heard anything about the Bloodborne Pathogen training? I got an email a month ago saying we'd need to complete it online, but never heard anything else. I want my American Data Bank to say "compliant"! See ya bright and early on the 15th!

Are you guys in the Acc Bacc program at OHSU?

I'm in the OCNE program, and I believe kmd is, too.. But we'll be in some of the same classes! Are you starting in the Fall term accbac?

You guys are at the portland campus , right?

Yes, I am in the fall accbacc program, but I will see you guys at orientation (hopefully)

Bloodbourne pathogen training takes place at orientation, and then you sign a list that says you've taken it, and then your program advisor enters the list into American Databank's records...however fast they can get to it. In my cohort's case we were all non-compliant for about three or four days while our advisor worked on entering the list. But it was done eventually, and then we were all nice, compliant little students. :lol2:

Maybe the whole point of calling us noncompliant is to teach us how patients feel to be called that.

Cinquefoil, they changed it this year! I guess it's going to be on Big Brain now.... But it's not there yet!

Yes, LLH, Portland campus. See ya at orientation!

That's awesome. Orientation was overwhelming enough without having a training on top of it. Not anything big, just a day FULL of information about the courses and the school and its policies.
