Applicants to Los Angeles County College of Nursing and Allied Health - Spring 2018

Published

Hello everyone! Today I attended the orientation session for the Spring 2018 semester at LAC -CONAH (Los Angeles County - College Of Nursing and Allied Health. Lots of good info/tips were given. I have submitted my application already. This time around, they are taking applications online. I previously applied to the Fall 2017 semester, but did not make it in because one of my transcripts arrived late. Hopefully, I will make it in this second time. Anyone else out there who is applying to next year's generic session? How about the bridge (LVN to RN) program? I took the ATI TEAS with them this year, if you have any questions, feel free to ask. Here goes the long-waiting-to-hear-if-I-make-it-in all over again! Gotta love it

Hi everyone! I just saw this thread. Has anyone received an acceptance? I haven't heard anything from the school and am wondering if they send out rejection letters also. I think I'll try and call the school.

Several people got accepted already, not me. Based on previous post, if you haven't heard back from them by npw then most likely we were rejected. What are your stats as far as points? etc

Did you get accepted?

If it helps any, for all of you guys who have applied and did not get in first try, I say DO NOT GIVE UP!!! In 2015, I applied to LACCONAH and was denied. I was devastated but I kept going. I was at City at the time, even graduated from there. I reapplied and now I start Spring 2018. Apply to at least 4 other schools as well, just in case. Keep your eyes on the prize!!! Looking forward to seeing you all Friday!!!

Congrats to those who were accepted!

I know this is an old thread, but would anyone be willing to share their experience so far regarding the school? Staff? Difficulty level? Pros? Cons?

Thanks

So far this is considered the end of the 6th week. As far as experience it's definitely hands-on. We were already caring for clients in the 4th week. There is lots to know and to apply in the clinical setting. As far as level of difficulty, I guess that's subjective depending on who you ask. Our group is comprised of students from different educational backgrounds ranging from no healthcare experience at all to students who hold Bachelor's degrees. The clinical instructors are helpful but they expect you to study, read, and know how to try to critically think. The higher semester students also help us and are willing to gives us tips in order to succeed. The pros: the instructors, the student body, and the learning environment, Oh and the tuition. The cons:the clinical worksheets & the course load for sure! So much information, at times I'd think my brain would explode!

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for responding in such a detailed way. I know you have lots to do, yet you took time to answer my questions. You have helped me. I wish you much success in the coming semester. I hope to be accepted for this fall 2018 term.

Thank you! Did you make it in yet? I still have not. I am now applying into the bridge program starting this Summer 2018.

I'm sorry about delay with transcript last year. Best of luck!

No, I didn't they said the cut-off was 77 points and my application had 76 points so I was short 1 point. It's okay because now I am applying into the bridge program with 84 points. See what the outcome of that is this year. Best of luck to everyone and don't give up! This is my 3rd time applying.

Most definitely!!! Own it and it's yours! See you Fall 2018.
