Hi everyone, I have a midterm today on APEA. Has anyone taken something similar. I did all the questions apea has to offer about each subject, but I still feel worried I won't do well because the questions that APEA has are so particular. We've covered cards, pulm, HEENT, Health Promotion, GI and GU

Anyone gone through this? What should I expect?

APEA was part of my curriculum and grades, unfortunately. Funny thing is, they never really told us how to study for the two APEA exams that were once each year. I'm assuming your program made you watch/attend the APEA seminars. I used the syllabus from the APEA seminars and notes I took down to study for the first time exam in which I did well (scored a low 80% overall for not studying too much). The 2nd exam the following year (last year) I was unprepared for and thought the exam was going to be similar as the first and only studied the syllabus. I ended up doing very poorly and ended up in a "remediation" state for that class. My retake exam I did scored enough to pass the class. I used both the syllabus, APEA videos, and I always purchased and used Amelie's Clinical Practice Guidelines. Her book did help quite a bit. The APEA exams are to test your knowledge as well as to mimic the board exams. I guess the only way to really study for it is to continue reading through content in your books and doing practice APEA exams or if you have any other supplemental sources for practice exams.

Edit:
I just re-read your post and it says your exam is today. Not sure how much my post will help knowing that. Good luck either way. Hopefully your exam doesn't count as a huge portion of your grade like it did for me and my class.

Thanks for responding. So all we did was predictor exam, I did the questions offered to the systems we covered but don't have access to any lectures. I scored about a 59% on pre predictor without studying. So scared right now LOL

I would say that's not bad for not studying and I take it you're about halfway through your program. They say that 70% is where you want to be at before you take your boards. I believe 65-70 is something like "at risk." I remember scoring like 60 or something on the 2nd exam that pushed me into remediation then the retake I scored a 65%. I was devastated because I thought they were not going to pass me through the class. There were adjustments on my final exam by my instructor and ended up around 68% or something and my instructor had let me know what I just mentioned about the "at risk" area and passed me.

Keep in mind this is simply a predictor test. It's not necessarily a test used to help you "study" for the boards. I did not take any APEA predictor tests when I studied for my boards.
