Buy the updated version of the book so that you can consult it frequently. That's what I needed to do on a yearly or every other year basis to keep up on the changes for the APA format of reports and papers.

I think it's a shame that all colleges and tech schools don't use the same format.

I learned with APA. I got a handbook on it at the tech school I went to last year. I'm keeping it to use in my new school, which also uses APA. That was one book I didn't need to buy on the list this year!

I think a Google search will bring up a lot on APA, but maybe you can copy some stuff on it and create your own handbook at the library or something. Mine is only about 30 pages.

Good luck!

Noodle Bib will compose both APA and MLA format. The subscription to the service is really cheap...

Subscription rate: $4.00 for 3 months, $6.00 for 6 months (25% discount), or $8.00 for one year (12 months, 50% discount).

Here's the link: http://www.noodletools.com/tools.html

I love this service, makes bibs a breeze.

Oh, and the APA book is also the devil....all it does is make me MORE confused, as I can't figure out what the heck they are trying to tell me to do. And it NEVER fails, I always have a situation they DON'T mention in the book.

I, too, miss the good ole' days of MLA. :chuckle

I recently started Nursing school and was given many resources to facilitate learning. This web site allows you to input all your data gathered for your paper and it writes the paper for you.

I see a lot of people advising you too look at websites. BEWARE though. The only reason there is a 5th edition of the APA manual is because there are 4 previous ones. And the lesson here is that they CHANGE THE RULES. $$$ is all they think about. :angryfire

When looking at websites you have to be absolutely sure that is is up-to-date. My Socialization teacher is wicked strict and said that if you use formatting from off the internet that is out-of-date he would still take off points. :uhoh21: The only website he advised us to use was the following:

http://www.drgwen.com/materials/apa/apa.htm

And this is the APA manual (5th edition, don't use a previous one):
