I am taking AP I (my second time around, first time did horrible...so wish me luck) and Inorganic Chem this fall...starting in like 2 weeks and I am VERY nervous! :/ I will have the TIME to study...I just don't know WHAT to study. AP material can be very overwhelming and I just want to make sure I do well. Other than studying the text for both AP & Chem, any suggestions on other books that I can purchase or websites? I took an Intro AP class this summer and got a 4.0 but I had a VERY easy instructor. So, I know AP I will be MUCH harder. Any tips on how to be successful in BOTH classes will be very helpful. :) Good luck everyone! :redbeathe

Make a lot of flash cards, read the book, and take advantage of the CDs that come with the books (if yours do) they contain great diagrams/pictures that will help you on the practicals. When I took A&P I/II I used the CDs all the time to practice labeling pictures.

If you can, get involved in a study group. This has been so helpful for me so far. We all meet once a week and go over our professors lecture slides, and answer the questions at the end of each chapter in the text book. It has been great getting to talk through some of the processes I am a bit confused on. Everyone has different ways they remember things so talking through them and getting several different ideas is very helpful. Also, it really helps me remember things when I explain a process to someone else as well.

There are some great websites out there that help with memorization. I LOVE "anatomy arcade"! It helped me so much for a & p I. Love it!

I'm taking A&P 1 now. What has helped me is reading, re-reading and reading some more the chapters. I also use one of the coloring books! I also agree to talk through some of the stuff you are confused about with class mates. We do this at the end of class and the prof is still there and he can answer any questions right on the spot. For flashcards - I make cards for information I'm not sure of and carry it around in my purse. Waiting in line? Whip out those flashcards! I'm taking to using this method for my Human Growth and Dev class and Sociology...for the terminology and concepts I need to understand.
Our school has a website with worksheets, recorded lectures, pre-made flashcards in a resource area. Does your school have something like that?
