I was offered a position, and I'm accepting it. Just wanted to get some thoughts about the company from current or previous employees. Thanks in advance!

I have been working at Teamhealth as a triage nurse for 6 yrs. I really enjoy the work and love the people I work with. The work is different from direct patient, but just as fullfilling. The company is growing which is always a positive sign. I hope that you enjoy the job.
I do think that I will really like it. I am going to start part-time because I have other commitments that keep me from working 3 weekends per month. My training class starts on February 11th. Are you in Knoxville?

I have put in an application with TeamHealth, but haven't heard back from them. Could one of you who works there answer a question for me? I would like to know if the WAH equipment needed, such as the computer and phone set-up, is furnished for those who are hired? I have both call center and WAH experience, and all of the necessary equipment was furnished by the employer when I worked from home. I recently interviewed for a job with CareNet, also a WAH nurse triage company, and was surprised to learn that I would have to supply my own PC. I only have a MacBook, so that didn't work for me. If anyone can answer this question for me, I would really appreciate it! Also, can you give me at least a ballpark idea of the hourly pay rate?
Thanks so much!

Interested in following this thread, still there arg928? how is it going?
Yes, I am still there. I love the job, but the hours are all evenings and weekends. If you can handle working those hours, it's a great job!
To work from home, you have to buy your own phone. They supply the computer. I am not working from home, yet.

do they atleast reimburse you for usage of your own phone. I would imagine you would need unlimited minutes on your plan.

Hi, idk if you are still following this thread, arg928, but I am considering a position with TeamHealth call center. I have never worked in a call center before and was wondering how it all works. Specifically, does the triage computer program tell you EVERYTHING to say? I am worried about liability. Is any nursing judgement required or is it all pretty much spelled out for you as far as what to ask and how to respond/what to recommend? Thanks!
oldfaithful, the guideline pretty much tells you everything you need to say. We also have approved websites and documents called "exit care" that we can pull information from and note the source (website) that we obtained it from. You will need to use some nursing judgment. I love the job!
Arg928, thanks for the quick reply and useful info! Glad you like it because it sounded like there was a high turn-over rate and it made me a little cautious. I have had 3 years of hands on experience (med/surg and nursing home) but have been out of the field for 5 years. That's why I was wondering about how much judgement was involved, since I'm a little rusty. What is your opinion on that? Do you think that would effect my ability to perform this job well? Also, what type of patients do you deal with most? Is it stressful work? Lol, sorry so many questions! Thanks
