Anyone work in San Diego, LA, or Bay area?

Published

I am relocating to California and am trying to decide between these three areas. If you live/work in one of these areas, would you please tell me what you like about the area, where you work, if you like it, and why/why not?

Thanks :)

Im in the Bay Area , been out here since 94'. I havent worked yet as a nurse but as a CMA pretty much doing all nursing work, plus the pay was that of a LVN. Im not sure what you wanted to know. Offices are really busy, employers like to see you know 'your stuff' can work indepedently and they dont like to ask for anything. CA is like being out here to prove yourself for your entire life. You can be making decent pay but w the cost of living, gas, groceries, what have you... it will still seem you live paycheck to paycheck. I am originally from Colorado, so this is all just my own opinion and how I see it. People arent as friendly here, most less they are there to work and get the job done and not much have interaction w you ... unless you do run into some nice folks ... which seems rare. Patients arent easy to accept the 'new' nurse onboard... seems like it takes about a year for them to earn your trust, understandable, and some doctors arent fun to work for. But in the end, you have the gorgeous weather, beaches over there, mtns over there and lakes to the other way ... lots to do and see here... which is what brought me here in the first plaace and now thats ive exhausted all of those things and am wrapping up all my licenses Im looking to head back to less populated places ...

also youd think for CA, its easy to find a job ... it can take up to 2mth for people to get back to you ... also most job applications are all internet based... drives me crazy ...!!
