I heard that Mercy has that online bidding system for shifts.
ie. un-filled shifts start out at $49.00 an hour and employees can log in and bid to get that shift. One person might be willing to work it for 45.00 an hour and another employee might be willing to work it for 42.00 an hour and "win it".
thanks colleen,
thats the position i applied for, they didn't go in detail. I also heard the bonus is at 6,ooo as well from another co-worker. I live about 50 minutes from pgh so the perdiem seems right up my alley, used to work at shadyside 5 years ago.

WAS SUPPOST TO GO ON A INTERVIEW TO MERCY AND DECIDED AGAINEST IT ONCE I FOUND OUT THAT MERCY NURSES HAVE TO PARK AT THE CIVIC ARENA (MELLON ARENA). AND TAKE A SHUTTLE OVER TO THE HOSPITAL AND BACK AT END OF SHIFT THIS PUTS ABOUT AN EXTRA HOUR ON YOUR ALREADY LONG DAY. SO I DEECIDED AGAINEST MERCY.
thanks, that really stinks about the parking.
I'll see what they have to offer, hubby works at ppg gets free parking in town, think just take the bus or walk to town. At possible 49.oo an hour i'll deal with the inconveinence.

I know people who work per diem at Mercy. I can forward your post to them.
I'm currently at UPMC Shadyside.
