Anyone work Florida Hospital?

Published

I applied for their GN program and I'm hearing mixed things. I know the pay rate is 22.09 for ASN and 22.75 for BSN. I would prefer ICU, PCU or med surg and location doesn't matter to me. I know there is a 13500 contract for two years. I've seen good reviews and I've seen some horror stories about the main campus. Can anyone tell me what it's like and what campus and unit you work? I'm really considering withdrawing my application and waiting out for other GN programs to start. Thanks for the insight.

I often wonder if there any RN's here who actually work in FL or are they all just students! Rarely see responses to inquires about pay, benefits and work environments!

Did you get hired? If not, how do you know those numbers are accurate?

I didn't get hired. This is what I saw on the forums here from people that were offered a position. It seems like people get offered a position then drop off from here. I'm just trying to get any information I can.

Hello, I had interviews at a few hospitals in the Southwest of Florida for new grad positions. The pay at one hospital was 23.00 with shift differentials, with a 2 year contract. Another hospital offered 24.00 (night shift) with shift differentials with a 2 year contract. Getting a job and experience was paramount for me so that I can specialize in the future. Good luck with your job hunt.

Ahua,

What hospitals did you apply at?

I applied at NCH, Lee Memorial, Bayfront, VA hospital system and a few more.. I think it is worth applying to everything, hopefully get a interview and even if you don't get a offer you become more comfortable and confident with questions that you'll be asked. I know people say the pay isn't that great in Florida but sometimes you have to sacrifice to get experience, at least that is how I look at it. Good luck with your search.

Shoot me a PM and we can chat.

Hey smalltownhero,

I tried sending you a PM and it wouldn't let me. Said something about it being turned off for you or something like that.

I apologize! I did not realize you have to turn private messages on.

Are you saying they offer $13,500 for a 2 year contract or was that supposed to be $1,350? I'd like to know anything you've learned about Florida Hospital as I am interviewing places right now.
