congrats! I work there as a CNA, I have been there for 5 years and I love it. I will graduate in Dec from nursing school, and hopefully I'll be able to stay there.

Hi I actually have an interview there tomorrow for a cardio tech position. What's it like working there? How is the pay scale for cna work if u don't mind me asking. I am going to nursing school next year for my adn rn. Where do u guys go to school? I hope I get the job. Right now I work as a med assistant in peds office and I just want to get back into the hospital setting. Also I am interested in cardio as well and hopefully can start out in telemetry when I graduated. Look forward to hearing from ya.

The pay for CNA's is pretty good. I started as an Anesthesia Tech, which pays more, so I'm not sure what the starting pay is. I go to Lawrence Memorial/Regis College, I'll graduate in December. I am in the Float Pool so I go to pretty much every floor, and one of my favorites is Telemetry. If you get the Cardio Tech position that should help you with starting on a Tele unit.

Hi, I heard that was a good school for nursing. How was working in anesthesia? That would be a fun job. I did well I think at the interview. I hope I get it. It looks like a real nice hospital. I will find out on Friday whether or not I got the job. Do u remember how long the hosp orientation was? I'm just curious. Thanks for responding back.

Hi, thanks so much for replying. I'm starting on J2, which I understand is a CRAZY busy floor. I'm hoping to do pedi per diem as that's the area I work in now, and eventually move to the ER.

SarahBeth- J2 is a busy floor, but I like when I work there. There are some awesome nurses on evenings. Its post op so there is frequent vital signs on everyone, and that makes it crazy along with all the other admission stuff.

Erindel- I believe hospital orientation is a week, but I'm not sure. Then you would have your department orientation. I :heartbeat working as an anesthesia tech and I miss it everyday. I worked in an operating room for 8 years, the last 3.5 as an anesthesia tech. My dream is to never have to step foot on a regular floor as an RN, but I know it won't happen.

Working in the or would be great. Do they hire new grad rn into the or? Was it hard as a tech there? I also would like telemetry too. I am interested in cardio and the or. Working in the er was fun too though. It was busy. Hey what town do u guys live in? I live in danvers. Congrats on ur new job sarah beth. Is j2 a med surg floor? I worked on a med surg oncology floor and it was 36 beds and very busy. They only had 2 techs on for the whole floor. Talk to u guys later.

So far so good! Everyone is so friendly and my nurse manager is a love. I can't wait to learn new skills!

I am glad its going good so far! I met the nurse manager the other day. I believe she is fairly new to J2

I did a clinical rotation on J5. I loved that floor. If only I could figure out how to get a job there!

One of my best friends works on J5, she was a tech there before becoming an RN and she feels the same way. From what I understand it's one of the best floors in the hospital to work on. I'd call HR to get a foot in the door per diem, a few techs just moved up to internal new hires as RNs, and there will be more moving up in August for the big orientation. You could also see about the nurse externship program, but I'm not sure if that is limited to specific schools.
