Anyone have to wear Dove Apparel?

I'm assuming these are whites?? I use regular laundry soap with a capful of that tide stain release stuff on all of mine... takes out just about any stain without having to spray n wash them...

As far as the uniform brand, sorry, I can't help at all with that... hopefully someone else can! :)

I bought the expensive Dove uniforms because I had to and I hated them the whole program. I found that they do get warm, but they are very well made. I used bleach to spot treat on occasion because I didn't want the bleach to fade out my school's patches that I had to sew on. I always wash everything in All free and clear or something like that for sensitive skin. Regular detergents really irritate my skin.

Worked pretty good. My issues with them were that they DID get hot, the cost, and I /hated/ the way the pants fit--fine in my waist, but forget about the hips. SO glad to be done with them.

Surprisingly, the unisex pants fit me fine, even though I do have fairly wide hips. Did you get the women's scrub top that ties and buttons down in the back? I ordered the "uniscrub" top and it's huge and bulky. Do you happen to know if the women's scrub top is any better? Thanks for your help!

In the way of tops, I ordered the women's zip up top and it fit okay, though several of the girls did order the more girly top that buttons and ties in the back. I would say that that style probably was more flattering and has more leeway when it comes to fit because you tighten it up with the drawstring in the back.

The only trouble some of the girls had with it was the collar wanting to flop up, but I don't think it's that much of a big deal. I had the dress for pinning ceremony and it's pretty much that top made longer to be a dress. I had no problems with the collar, and the top fit better. Hope this helps!

If you have friends going into the program with you who ordered other sizes of uniforms it might also help to try each other's on to get an idea if a size down would help.

I find that peroxide removes blood stains very nicely without hurting the quality/integrity of the uniform material like some bleaches do. And it doesn't cause colors to fade: you can use it on the darkest scrubs you have, and no "oopsie" marks!!

I used Dove apparel during nursing school. It turned off white the second year. Dove claims that their products are stain proof, but it isn't. I recommend bleaching once a month or using oxyclean.

I had to wear DOVE apparel in school and hated it. I followed the size chart guidlines and yes their products run really big. I just stuck it out with my oversized uniform though (looked like a clown). No they dont shrink. On the label it states not to use chlorine bleach and I ignored it, but I could see why because the uniform began to get a yellowish tinge to it and looked really dingy pretty early on. Some classmates used Chlorox 2 and it seemed to keep them looking nice..we also used to walk around with the laundry sticks to treat stains as we went along. After my experience with bleach, I started using Oxyclean and lemon juice and it helped whiten them. Overall their products are durable.

i used my dove uniform for the 2 years i was in the program, the second year i dyed them white they did get a little off white due to bleaching but it lasted a very long time (almost wore it to pinning, then they said we can wear whatever we want as long as its white scrubs) Im still keeping mine, I will never burn it (way too much money) and its grown on me lol

Hi - I had to buy Dove uniforms for school. I used them for 2.5 yrs and did not experience any yellowing of my white pants. But I took care to wash them only with other whites. I did not bleach. I honestly never got them dirty except for some liquid iron but that came out in the wash.

Both my top and bottoms still look great after all of my clinicals. My top (maroon) did not fade in color. Just be sure to wash as directed. I used Tide (no special detergent). They were expensive, but they are durable, and I'm sure you can resell to other students at your school once you are finished.

we had to wear the dove uniforms too... hated them! yes, they yellow. no, they dont shrink; however most of us gained a few pounds and by the end of the 3rd year the pants were a little snug. if you noticed the elastic band irritating your waist, go to a medical uniform store and buy some more comfortable white pants. as long as there's no emblem on the leg, your instructors wont even notice! youll be much more comfortable in them! good luck! before you know it, you'll be done!
