Just curious, anyone out there using EMR rather than paper for cumulative health file (shot records/clinic notes) etc.? If so, what software do you use?? I would love to go to EMR and I know it's a cost thing.. just curious what your opinions are (if you use EMR)? Thanks-

My city uses Healthmaster. It is great but needs maintenance by the IT folks frequently. If it 'goes down" I have NO information, which is a huge drawback to any EMR system. That being said I always have a paper copy of contact phone numbers, current meds and allergies, scheduled meds and any other info I need if I have to work without Healthmaster. The other drawback to this system is that you still have to hand enter the student and all thier info as well as immunizations. Usually that is done by the registration nurse as new students enter our school system. Bottom line is I would rather use an EMR system than hand write anything!!!! My health files are still taking up too much space!!

We use STIHealth but are going to INOW next year. I love the EMR! I do keep a backup paper copy since you never know what may happen. Only a handful of times that it has been down for more than an hour or so. It really makes it easier to keep records.

We use Genesis. The entire school uses it and we just use the Health portion. Average at best, but I have never seen anything else out there.
