Anyone use Ultrascope stethoscope?

Published

I'm tryin to decide what kinda of stethoscope I want to recieve from my parents as a graduation present in August. Has anyone or does anyone use an ultrascope or know anything about them? I really haven't heard too much. Thanks for the help guys.

I have been using my ultrascope for 1.5 yrs and couldn't live with out it. I can hear really well on it, esp lungs. Started out with litman but just wasn't hearing good with it. Read reviews on the ultrascope, tried it out and wouldn't trade it for all the tea in China!! I got the yellow smiley face one and not only is it a great scope, but great conversation starter!! It looks like new still. I would definately recomment it.

I have a double lumen one for those of us who are hearing "challenged". I love it!!!!

I love my Ultrascope! It's the only 'scope I can hear worth a darn with, and let me tell you, I can hear even through layers of clothing and blankets. Like the poster above said, lung sounds are especially easy to distinguish......heart sounds a little less so, and bowel tones sometimes are a bit hard (on obese patients anyway). I don't hear particularly well, so my Ultrascope is a real lifesaver.........I'd recommend it to anyone who's 'auditorially challenged' like me. :)

I tried one out at the scrub shop based on the recommendations from everyone here. I liked it enough to order one. I just ordered it last week - so it hasn't come in yet, but i can't wait to get it. I am hoping it will be in before i start my first job as an RN next month. I got the green nurse with hot pink tubing, with my name and RN on the head in pink.

I teach and use the dual stethoscope for my students to share with. They love the fact they can really hear the sounds we are listening for. A find that I have to position it extra carefully sometimes in my ears, but I do hear well with them. I wouldn't trade if for anything. I have been a nurse a long time (25+ years) and this is by far the best stethoscope I have ever had.
