Anyone tried a new ereader for nursing classes?

Published

I was just curious if anyone has tried one of them for class? There are so many now to choose from with the Nook, iPad, and Kindle. Has anyone considered it and been able to find your text books? I am going to try I think.

I got a look at my textbook list. The school bookstore is asking almost $300 just for an iPod Touch ( I already have an iPhone so that is just dumb) and some majorly overpriced books and apps. All told the total was almost $1600 going that route so I figured nothing to lose really and I may actually save a few bucks AND wind up with nifty new gadget.:yeah: I would love to hear what anyone's experiences are. Sorta scared and excited. I have been waiting a bit to get into the 2 year program here. Glad it is here and the hard work has paid off thus far. Seems sort of surreal. Only now getting started though. I feel like I am just now sitting down and rolling up my sleeves!

If you have an iPhone or Blackberry, Amazon has the Kindle app for free to use on those phones. Just a suggestion if you buy Kindle books and don't want to buy another ereader.

I know. I have that. I was more curious if all the text books were available and how the format of an e reader was working out versus lugging traditional books.

I looked all my books up and not all were available on kindle or ipod touch (out of 16, only 7 were available). I guess if you find that 3 or 4 books are available and it saves money, you could figure the cost vs savings. Also, for me, I'm more traditional and need to have a book in front of me. I usually have my fingers marking different pages to switch back and forth with ease. But that's just how I learn best. So I guess it's a numbers game for you :)

Good luck with the books and NS!

None of mine were available for the Kindle, but honestly, I don't want to try and look at graphs and photos on a reader. I use that for pleasure reading. I need color and references to learn this stuff, and hard copy is the only way to go (for me).
