Just finished my 2nd week at Seton (SMCA). They said thousands of travelers will be coming through in the next several months do to the EMR conversion. This is my 2nd assignment and very different from my first, but change is good! I'm in L&D and it's BUSY, which I'm glad for. I'm definitely up for meeting up with people when you get to town, especially if you work nights!
Hi all...EagerOne, I'm actually considering coming to Austin a little earlier prior to the start of my assignment. I'll be working nights so I'd definitely be interested in hanging out.
Everyone else, especially those having difficulty finding their own housing... I was considering getting a 2BR apartment. Looking for someone to split the costs. More than likely I'd have to sign a 3 month lease. If you're interested, feel free to contact me here.
Thanks!
I will be heading to Austin, Tx this month also! This will be my first assignment. I'm nervous and excited. How awesome is it to find this post. WOW! I would love to hang out with other travelers. I will be on Nights. For the housing, I will be at an Extended Stay. But I have a question for you guys. What are you doing for transportation? Are you driving to Texas? If you want to know what hospital I will be at just message me. I'm new to this site so I don't know how to message. It may be easy I just haven't done it yet. I'm excited for all of us! I'm all for meeting up!
I live in Austin. Did you guys find housing. There are many Seton locations throughout Austin and surrounding areas. It's good to ask which one you'll be at and if you'll be traveling from one to the other. Traffic here is AWFUL. I think we ranked worse than Houston and Dallas. So I'd try and get a place near where you're staying. Unless you are working night shifts where traffic isn't an issue. :)

I just got my first travel position for Seton Medical Center and am looking for other travelers going to Austin in March and April! Anyone have any good ideas for living arrangements also while I am there? Thanks!
