Anyone in Tampa, Fl for LPN at Erwin Tech March '11?

Published

Hello,

I have not had a chance to meet anyone who is currently qualified and planning to attend the orientation at Erwin Tech in November. I am excited about going and have a lot of questions. I have been here 5 years and really do not know anyone in the medical world, as it seems like it is a different place. If you are out there, please reply and lets connect.

Thanks! :lol2:

I went to Erwin for Med. Assting., and was on the advisory board for a few years. I found no better education could be gotten in Tampa than perhaps at Brewster. This is a REAL school as compared to Concorde, etc., where you are there for 6 minutes, pay $60K and learn nothing. Exaggeration of course, but please compare my 14 months to a Concordian 6 months. Who got the better, deeper information and education? Me. Who paid a quarter of the Concordian? Me. I'm going back. I can't find a job out there after 18 months because there are 300 persons going for 1 job and I have too much experience for them to pay bottom scale, I am presuming since I've never had trouble getting a job in my life. The economy sucks and if my unemployment is cancelled, I'm dead. But I'm looking to the future and that will only be at ERWIN TECH or Brewser. I hope that helped. P.S. I was working at a MAJOR INSTITUTION here in Tampa and a Concordian was on her externship. She knew NO TERMINOLOGY, and it's not like she was absent that day. When she told me about the student loan I had to go somewhere private, shake my head, pull myself together, and ask her why!??!

Hi everyone!!!

I posted the original message to connect and I am so glad each of you have responded. Today, I turned in my packet and I am now waiting for the confirmation in January that I have been accepted. I look forward to seeing you all who are scheduled for March and God bless on your success!!!

Hey, did you get in to the June 2011 class?

No, while I was busy trying to take and pass the TABE and TEAS, I heard that the June 2011 class was full, so I didn't even bother...

Does anyone know where you can take the TEAS other than at Erwin? I need to take it but I don't want to wait till August to take it. Please let me know if anyone knows!

Thanks,

Lindsay

Lindsay,

I've heard that South University offers the TEAS as a way to get into their school. I don't know if you have to go through other things before they will let you take the test though, like application, interview and whatnot. But check that school out, I know Allied healthcare is also an LPN school and do not know what test they give. Good Luck! I just took it last month and did HORRIBLE! It was a good practice though. I decided that I wanted to go to Galen recently so I've been studying for their entrance exam.
