  1. What is your local school here in Florida?
  2. Hi everyone!!! I posted the original message to connect and I am so glad each of you have responded. Today, I turned in my packet and I am now waiting for the confirmation in January that I have been accepted. I look forward to seeing you all who are scheduled for March and God bless on your success!!!
  3. Hi!!! I dont have private message capability....so the site says. i will send you a private message or I can email you which ever you prefer. Thank you!!!!!!!!
  4. Hi everyone, I know I am random and chiming in late, but I am hoping to get a copy of notes too, as when I begin these courses, I will return the favor.
  5. Great question! I do not know the correct term, but I would ultimately love to work at St. Jude's Children's Hospital, working with the parents and children who may be ill.
  6. Hello. First, prayer changes things. So pray and then grasp life's horns tightly and enjoy the ride! What is for you will be for you. No man can take it and no man can give....that is, what is for you.
  7. Hello!!! I just took this exam about a month ago and let me tell you...I didn't study. I called the counselor who informed me that the test, at least here in Fl, is broken down into 4 sections. In Florida, you are required to pass with a 70% or better. So basically, you can do well on two sections and not so well on the other two; although, I encourage you to do your best on all. The four sections are Language, Reading, Math, and Science. The one thing I try to share with everyone is do NOT second guess yourself! All of your studying WILL pay off. Stay focused, get a good night's rest, and a good breakfast. Good luck!
  8. Also, try Craigslist, tampa.craigslist.org. I had many interviews from the listings there and its free!!!
  9. I passed my CNA exam yesterday!
  10. When you say 'pick', is that truly based on your wants or the hospital's staffing needs?
  11. Hi everyone. I want to share that I have completed and passed the CAN state board. Thank you to all who provided invaluable information. The skills given were not hard, it was the nerves that got me at first. What really helped was youtube and the nursing students who were testing with me. The waiting lobby became my favorite place to be.
  12. Thank ya thank ya LOL...uh, ya know my story is different because I had not had any prior knowledge of the nursing field or the details on what it would take to get in. After speaking with the LPN counselor, I knew that there were 4 sections and the overall % to pass was 70. So if you struggle in on e area and are efficient in another, you will do fine. When I walked in, people were reading books, manuals, notes, and all...I felt I was not prepared LOL but I knew that when given a multiple choice exam, take your time and NEVER second guess yourself. I know you will pass. Eat a healthy breakfast, get rest, and go in with confidence...see you on the other side!!!
  13. Hello All, I have just completed and passed the TEAS test for Erwin 2 weeks ago and I am awaiting the orientation meeting scheduled in November. The LPN program I am gong for starts March '11. Its so refreshing to see all of the positive comments about Erwin. I have learned it is tough but it should be when dealing with someone's health and well being. I posted another thread somewhere else about this but if there is anyone out there who is looking for a protege' or is starting when I start, please contact me. I am excited about this venture and have learned over the years that power is in numbers. Let's connect!
  14. Hello, I have not had a chance to meet anyone who is currently qualified and planning to attend the orientation at Erwin Tech in November. I am excited about going and have a lot of questions. I have been here 5 years and really do not know anyone in the medical world, as it seems like it is a different place. If you are out there, please reply and lets connect. Thanks!
