I'm taking A&P II this semester as well. I have a different teacher than I had for A&P I this summer. I've only had one class so far, but I already like this teacher. He seems much more organized than my A&P I teacher.

I had my first class today. My teacher is very energetic and seems to really care about her students understanding the material. Our grade will be based on 3 tests, a final, 5 online quizzes, 8 labs, and attendance/participation. We went over units, conversions, and significant numbers today. So far, not so bad. I haven't read the chapters yet though, so we'll see. How was everyone else's first day.

I start Chemistry for Health Sciences on the 23rd. I'm scared. Chemistry and Physics were my worst subjects in high school.

I posted a similar post in the pre-nursing forum, but I thought it'd be good to get advice from people who know the schools. I am torn between applying for CSN or NSC. As it stands right now, I can apply to enter the CSN program in Fall 2011 or the NSC program in Spring 2012. CSN Pros: -Start and graduate sooner -Cheaper -Less pre-reqs CSN Cons: -If I decide I want a BSN, I will need to go to an RN-to-BSN program. NSC Pros: -Graduate with a BSN NSC Cons: -More pre-reqs to complete -More expensive -Graduate six months later

Thank you all for replies. I'm still a little torn, but I'm leaning more towards the ADN program. It is with my local community college. It's been a round for years. In fact, my boyfriend's mother went there when we were in middle school. I also like that part of the curriculum is a pediatrics class. Thanks again for the advice. :)

I just finished up A&P I a few days ago. I ended up with a 92.67, which for my school is an A-. I'm a little upset, because if I'd gotten 93, I would have that A. Owell I guess, I will deal with my A-. My class was a six-week long summer class. It was intense, but also a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the dissections and the cadaver lab. We also took a "field trip" to the Bodies exhibit. That was really awesome. :) Now I'm going to enjoy my two weeks off until I start fall semester.

AP I and Micro? I think if you're willing to do the work and make the sacrifices necessary, it would be completely doable. I know a lot of people who've done AP II and Micro together, and from what I've heard APII is the harder course. I just hope that you're not taking them at CSN. I hear taking the sciences at CSN is murder. NSC classes, however, are awesome. I'm finishing up AP I there this week. It's been a crazy ride, but I'm happy to say that I will come out of it with at least an A-. I really want that A though.

I'm currently taking a six-week AP I summer class. Our muscular system exam is on Monday, and I've been studying my butt off. For the life of me though, I just cannot understand the depolarization/repolarization/hyperpolarization stuff. I get the sliding filament model and cross-bridge cycling. Anyone know a website or something that could help me understand it? To be more specific, I don't understand these questions in our study guide. What could change dramatically the potential across the plasma membrane? Ex: permeability to sodium ions? What would make it increase? What would happen if you had increased potassium concentration outside the plasma membrane? For the second one, someone told me hyperpolarization. I just don't understand why. Thanks for any help.

Awhile back I found a posting someone made linking to a website with their notes for A&P and Microbiology. I think there were also Chemistry notes. Does anyone know the website? Thanks for any help.

I've registered to take AP I, Microbiology, Chemistry for Health Sciences I for fall 2010. Do you guys think this is an overload? I'm also taking a one credit study skills class my school requires.
