Anyone taking the TEAS recently?

Published

I am taking the TEAS in less than two weeks. I am ok with the math and reading its the science I am concerned about. I was told to review the Mcgraw-Entrance book but it seems like so much more then what the ATI guide covers. I dont want to have to retain anymore than I have too. Any thoughts on the science portion using the ATI guide? Was it enough for most of you? Also what would you advise I focus on? Thanks I am in despair.

I am interested in this as well. Also wanted to say best of luck on your exam!

Have you already taken your pre-req sciences for your program?

Personally, I did poorly on the math section because it's been so long since I'd taken the class. Did well on science and language sections.

Some people told me to watch out for geology questions, but the few there were reminded me of stuff I'd learned in middle school.

Good luck!

Yes I have completed all sciences but this is for an lpn program no science pre-req's are required.

Any other info on TEAS would be appreciated.

Don't worry yourself, the science isn't a biggie. I've stated this on here before, but I took the test not even knowing I was taking a test and new nothing about the TEAS and scored an 85, and I haven't taken a science class since HS (10yrs ago). Most of the questions were like stuff learned in HS. I'm sure w/ a little studying you'll do even better.

Ok, guys and girls after much waiting and agonizing over taking my TEAS test I finally took it today.....I actually did better than I expected to do. First of all thanks to everyone here for all the great advice as far as studying goes!!! It was really helpful!!!!! So I decided to go for the TEAS study manual and practice test on the ATI website. I studied that and numerous other websites and books for about a onth straight then stopped for about a month to give myself a break. When I finally started to study again I decided if I didn't know it by then I wasn't going to learn it without help, so I just sucked it up and took the test. And here are my final scores: Reading National;89 Program; 96, Math National; 75 Program; 91, Science (the scriest by far since I guessed on most of them) National; 87 Program; 97, and finally English National; 95 Program; 99. Thanks again for all the encouragement and help with the studying and test taking process, whether directed directly or indirectly at me it still helped a ton!!! As far as science goes mine had 2 or 3 geology questions, 2-3 periodic table questions but those were the most difficult throughout the whole science portion. I would read over a GED Science prep book and that's pretty much it as far as science goes. I guessed on most of the science since i didn't go over these sections but I still got a 87% in the national ranking and a 97% in the program ranking. Hope this helps. Let us know how you do. Good Luck!!!!:D:up:

For the Periodic table how much did you have to know? Did you have to have it memorized? Any feedback on that would be great.

No it wasn't too bad as far as that goes. It asked what 2 compounds out of the 4 diff combos they gave you would make an ionic bond. But it only gave the symbols ie: Au, H2O; stuff like that. Not too bad I guessed since I had no idea...LOL
