Hi JaxiaKiley, and welcome to AllNurses.com!
Polska, I have taken all of my classes toward my ADN, the pre-reqs & the support courses.
I took A&P 1 at NLC, Micro at BHC, and A&P 2 at MVC....but all within the DCCCD.
Good luck to you both, and I hope to see more posts from you both.
Hi, I'm new to the forum, but I am currently taking my prereqs and plan to apply for Spring admission to the nursing program. NL will be my first choice campus. I went to the information session there a few weeks ago. Good Luck!
Fun2Care - Thanks, and Good luck with acceptance :)
Polska - I am taking my prereqs at TCC. I'm in A&P I, Algebra and Psych right now (and History, but that is for my basic AA). I have a low A in all of my class right now, and I really hope I can pull off the A in the end. I'm going to take Dev Psych in the May mini mester and A&P II during Summer II if all goes well. Good luck with your prereqs!

Polska,
I'm applying for admission in Spring 07. I will have all my prereqs done, and only need the support class Micro when I apply. AFAIK, DCCCD doesn't require chemistry, or statistics at all so you will only need them for a BSN. However, I think TCC and Collin County require chemistry. Also keep in mind you don't need A&P II or Micro to apply.
I just went an information session on north lake, and was told that for Spring 06, 115 people had a 4.0 on the prereqs and they accept 100 people. The last person accepted at the NLC had 9 support hours with a ~2.7 GPA on those support hours to get in. They haven't released stats for the Fall class because they haven't mailed the letters yet :)
The lady also said that the previous 5 semesters it only took a 3.77 to get in but for a few semesters before that it took a 4.0. So, things change! Just try to get an A and make sure you are taking the classes you need.
Good luck!
I'm pretty sure Collin County also requires Stats, FYI. :)
Yes, for Spring '06, you had to have a 4.0 with at least 6 credits of the support courses completed. For Fall '05, I believe the cut-off GPA was 3.77 with 11 credits of the support courses.
So, you never know! Try your best to make all A's on at least the pre-reqs!!!!
Yeah, that is why my first choice is DCCCD instead of TCC or Colling County because of the extra classes. But since I thought the question was about NLC, it's not required :) If I don't get in on my first try, I will probably take Chem, Nutrition and Statistics because I eventually want my BSN anyway, and it will allow me to apply to more programs.
Spring 06 only took 6 hours? Hmm, the lady at the session said the last person at ECC had 10 and the last person at NLC had 9. Either way, I want to make sure I have all my bases covered! I cannot wait! It seems so far away...
Are you taking Govt to get your BSN eventually?
