Has anyone taken "Nursing Informatics?" The teacher, who is very light-hearted and student-friendly, said it's going to be a "fun, easy" course. She also said we won't spend much time at the computer which leaves me to wonder what the heck are we going to do. I went to Amazon and looked at the book's table of contents, and all I can say is it looks like a snoozefest.
What is it? What did you do in it, and why?
Guess no one else knows either.

I always thought it was about charting programs and stuff. At least that's what all our hospital informatics people do. They train on the charting systems and try to make improvements and stuff. Definite snoozefest.

Most boring class I've ever taken. By a long shot.
We "learned" (I use that term loosely, since we already knew all of this...) the parts of a research paper, went over statistics (again!), and the importance of evidence-based practice was basically drilled into our heads every week for a whole semester. :smackingf

I wonder why they need to offer a whole class like this and not a 2 hour lesson. Same with dosing math. Do students really need an entire term of this? Bring a pillow.

Ughhhhh that was the easiest and most boring class I think I took. We looked at informatics in lots of health-care aspects, such as: phone diagnostics for people at home, robotic surgery, virtual learning and lots more super exciting stuff like that ahahahhahaha...prepare for fun :0
Ugh, it sounds killer. We've had research methods so hopefully we're done with that crap. At least the teacher said it'd be the easiest class next semester so hopefully, once again, nothing will be expected of me. Thanks for the replies.
