Anyone taken HESI test for ADN? I got question

Published

Hi, I'm planning on taking the test for the ADN program at HCC in March 29th. and I was wondering if someone could give me, like an example of a question. I think I'm all good in the Math and English section of the test but could anyone tell me what kind of questions they ask for the Bio, chem, or A&P. Just like for example.

If you could, I'd appreciate it but if you can't I guess I'll just do a little more research....

lol, I promised myself to use this whole month into studying for the test but I got kinda of lazy and now i started a week ago. Now this is the last week, gotta keep my head in the books.

By the way, txgrl u know any good free parking space? I know theres a parking lot in front of the building but i think its like 10 bucks to park in there. If not, guess the test N the parking costed me a total of 35 bucks

No I dont know of any. The med center is new to me.

How do you plan on taking pharmacology; on-line or in person? I am shooting for an evening class so i can keep working until the program starts. If i can make it! :uhoh21: lol, maybe we can take it together.

If you don't mind walking, there is plenty of parking at Greenbriar/W Holcombe at the CVS at the corner. It's a 5-10 min walk to Coleman. Here's a map: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&saddr=2266+West+Holcombe+Boulevard,+Houston,+TX+77030+(CVS+Pharmacy:+Houston)&daddr=1300+pressler,+houston,+tx&mra=pi&mrcr=0&sll=29.70535,-95.409619&sspn=0.004147,0.007296&ie=UTF8&ll=29.706645,-95.409994&spn=0.004147,0.007296&z=17

For those taking the HESI A2 tomorrow... the secretary emailed me today. She said that we can bring a calculator to use for the math portion if you wanted to. My gf also said that she took scratch paper and they let her use it for the math portion. Since its on a computer... I think I will def. need scratch paper for all sections. I am trying to review everything tonight. I am just so confused about the A&P portion since I've heard that it hard and that the study guide doesnt help with it. Anyway... I am hoping to post GOOD news tomorrow after my test!

Blessings ;)

Thanks a lot for finding out about the calculator, that's great.

Good luck! I wouldn't stress over the A&P. I can't imagine that they would make such a broad exam (1 yr of A&P!) very specific.

I am still in A&P 2, so I've been teaching myself the rest of the semester's work with "Anatomy & Phys: The Easy Way"

Specializes in Critical Care.

When I took the HESI the computer had a built in calculator but I found that it often gave me the wrong answer. I'm sure that some of that was operator error! Make sure you do each calculation twice to make sure you've got the right answer.

I also found that if you're fluent in American (not English), can spell relatively well and have decent grammar skills you'll do fine on the general questions. I got perfect scores there.

As for the A&P, I don't remember much, but I didn't do as well there as I could have if I'd been a better A&P student. I think I remember the questions being pretty broad based and worked into very basic nursing questions.

Ahh... bad news for me. Passed all section except for the A&P part.

The A&P section really kicked my butt. I'm gonna have to retake the test.

There's a question I'd like to ask.

You guys know any other college around Houston area that does HESI testing? I read you can take the test at other college and then turning it in at HCC coleman. If anybody knows, please post.

try cy-fair or the north harris college or maybe lee college in pasadena.

goodluck!
