Anyone take antidepressants?

Just curious and am wondering how they make you feel? Do they make you sleepy?

I tried taking the generic of celexa which is citalopram 40 mg... i couldn't sleep on it and it made my pupils look crazy. I need to be on anti-depressants but i am scared of the weight gain associated with them!

The Cipralex 10mg I'm taking has no effect on my weigh. The only side effect I noticed was that I got sweaty easier and more thwe first couple months, now it's ok :)

I also heard that Wellbutrin (Bupropion) helps some actually loose weight, and it's the antidepressant that affect sex drive the least, according to some studies... I tried it before I started Cipralex, and had a rash from it... which is among the most common side effects. Then I was prescribes Cipralex, and been happily on it for almost a year now. :)

I have anoter question, anyone know if it safe to be on antidepressants for long, how long?... because I hear people are on them for years and years... and my mom keeps bothering me, asking me how long will I have to be on it... "I don't want you to be addicted to them", "they might damage you *insert organ here*" and so on, I've been on Cipralex for almost a year now, and I'm wondering if anyone else here has been on it, is it safe to be on it for years on end? It doen't bother me that I'm on it, it's done wonders :) I just want to hear ather's experiences. How long were you/are you on you Antidepressant?
