Hope anybody could help me out on how to apply a migrant bridging program in Australia.. My documents have been assessed by the Nurses Board and i was told that my degree is sufficient enough to apply for the said program... What would be my next move and what visa should i apply for? I would appreciate any response...Thanks so much...

If the program takes more than 3 months to complete you should apply for student visa, if it takes less than 3 months apply for short bussiness visa. If you come with a student visa you are allowed to work 20 h/week to support yourself, while with short bussiness visa you don't have the right to work.
Thanks for your response but how would i know if it will take me only 3 months or more than that? Who would be the best to ask or inquire about ? Im a BSNursing graduate...Thank you so much for being concern with my query and hope to hear form you again...Have a nice day....:)
First you contact de university that delivers that course or program. The nursing board that assessed you documents will recomend you one or more instituitions that run this programs. The university will give you all the details about the program. To apply for a visa you need to be enrolled in the program, so you'll know at that time the duration of the course.
I know some details about the program in Queensland but the duration and method of delivery is different in each state.
Hi... Thanks a bunch for those replies you sent me...Youve been such a great help to me and i really appreciate it...Ill follow all your advice then ill let you know what happened... HI wendy,
Hi Everyone! I'm just new to this site and I'm glad I found this very informative and friendly site.
I read you post about registration in Australia. I'm also a filipina and currently applying for registration. This is what I did, my aunt in sydney help me through the process, like submitting all the document in NMB, registration board in NSW. after that, they send me a letter stating that i need to undergo an assessment program in College of Nursing in NSW enclosed with the brochure and the requirement in applying a program which takes 2-3 mos. It says there that I must be a holder of student visa or short business visa. At the moment I'm waiting for the approval of my visa. I apply a short business visa since student visa is more expensive. Hope this will help.
Keep in touch!

if you are BSNursing, why not apply migration directly? if you award 120 points or more, you can apply skill migration visa. no need to take bridging program
Thanks for the reply chaseh but it was my aunt idea and she was the applied me in NMB. Anyway, I might consider that option too. If ever, how long is the processing time? will it take a year?
Thank you so much!

Even with the BSN or equivalent, they also base the requirements of additional training on where you did your training, as well as your English skills. They are quite strict on the scores on the IELTS series.:)
Thanks Suzanne, I'll think about it.........
to get that 120 points are not easy.
the processing time included the skill assessment should be about 1 yr.
The ielts score is 7 (each band score should not less than 6.5) in order to gain that 60 points of your professional skill.
