Hi, I'm taking a break from writing my paper in 4510. It's week #2, and I'm feeling like I could use support! This week's APA paper is going better, but I didn't get feedback from the TA on my first paper. Anyone else in this course at this time?

I took it the last five weeks along with the physical assessment class. 4510 was rough!

it sure is rough!! and the TA grades harsh!! im barely passing and im giving my all in these damn papers. one to go, lets pray we all pass this stupid class!
Make sure you look at the rubric and are answering the stuff in it. I kind of just did like a checklist where I would go down the list. I didn't figure that out till later. It was a rougher class than the physical assessment and geriatrics. I also recommend PERRLA. I think there was a paper where I only received half the points even though it was one that I put effort into whereas the last paper I BS'd it and I had all the points on it.

This is the worst class by far. Get through this with your 80% and you're good to go :)

I wish I would have found this forum and support 6 weeks ago. Being out of school for nearly 20 years (really not that old:bored:, but sure feels like it), NRSE 4510 was a very difficult class. Spending at least 35-40hrs per week on research papers, discussion board posts and responses proved to be intense and stressful. The plan for the remaining semester, to take physical assessment, and geriatrics was placed on hold. Although I did receive a 93% in the class, I felt there would be no way to continue at that pace while working full time and with home responsibilities. I was exhausted after that class and dropped the two other classes prior to the start. I feel discouraged and feel as though if I can only take/handle one five-week class per semester, it will take another 20 years!
And for anyone out there struggling with 4510, the above advice is gold. Use the rubric for the research papers and the discussion boards. Although it seems like a lot of information, if you hit every point on the rubric you will receive most of your points. The APA format, citing and referencing was time-consuming (probably spending more time than needed). I did not know about PERRLA until after reading this forum, and will be using it when I get the energy to take the next class.
I too am taking only one class per semester. This has kept me sane and debt free. It will take longer to get my degree but it is worth it
