Anyone starting WGU

What is he big different between WGU and excelsior RN to BSN program? I' m interested in WGU, I'm hoping they will accept all my pre req. But University of Texas Arlington Rn to BSN program also look good.

Did they price went up?

I conjecture that only those who have attended both WGU and Excelsior College would be able to accurately answer this question. I hope one of our frequent posters chimes in since she completed her ASN at Excelsior and the BSN at WGU.

That's probably me.. The *ASN* at Excelsior has some similarities to WGU's RN to BSN program in that you show competency in a class and then you are done with that class. If you did an ASN with excelsior and tested out of ap and micro you'll probably have to retake with a lab at WGU but it's easy. :)

I have a manager who went to excelsior for her *BSN* and it appears it is similar to a traditional BSN program with discussion boards/group projects etc and is not competency based like WGU. And it is more expensive, although reasonable. I'd check on the Excelsior boards for specific details on the BSN just to be sure.

No, WGU has not increased their prices.

I decided to go with WGU, I start in Sept and I only need 34 credit. I'm glad they don't have discussion boards or group projects. My goals is to finish as soon possible. Wish me luck
