anyone starting chamberlain FNP in September 2014

Published

Hello, everyone,

I will be starting the Chamberlain FNP program in September 2014. I would like to know if anyone is also starting in the fall semester. I planned on taking 1 class at a time, in order to get familiarize with the course load and make good grades. Input will be appreciated in order for us all to work together to achieve our aim.

Any ideas or thoughts of classes yall will be taking?

How many classes do you tend on taking in a semester?

I believed the advisor stated fall semester classes can begin registration in July.

I have applied for Sept 2014! Hope to be joining you....

I'm starting class 7/7/14

Hello, stephanie11, I'll be starting Chamberlain's FNP program in Sept, too. I plan to take just one class at a time. I think that will be perfect for me as I have three small children. I like that the program is structured that way, just one class to concentrate on at a time. I have heard (on this forum) that taking two classes at a time is doable. I'm in the Jacksonville, FL area. How about you? We'll have to keep in touch!

ickc22, good luck and please let us know how it goes!

Hi Ladies,

I'm currently in my 2nd year of the FNP program at Chamberlain. I'm starting Advanced Health Assessment July 7. Try to find preceptors early. It's the hardest part of the program. I start clinicals in Sept and still do not have a preceptor and I've been searching since Dec 13. Good luck. I live in Jax, Fl as well.

Chelleynn1079,

Have you contacted the school? If so, what has been the response. I was told that if the student cannot find a preceptor the school would step in to help.

They are working on it, however they told me these are the places we have a contract with locate a person, most people have said no and the ones that said yes are in specialities and I need family practice

I am starting the chamberlain fnp program sept 2014 as well! I am a bit worried about finding my own practical sites, as I had to do this with another program and had a terrible time with it! The only reason I'm trying this is because they said they have someone to help me find them if I have problems. I'm just going to do 1 class at a time. I like the idea of being able to put complete focus into 1 at a time. Nice to find others starting with me :)

Hi guys! I am starting the Chamberlain FNP program on Sept. 1 also! I am really excited to have found others who are starting the program at the same time as I am. Maybe we can all start a support group or something? I have already found a few MDs and NPs that are considering taking me under their wing when the time comes but I just need to know the requirements/qualifications for our preceptors. I guess we will know once everything starts but it would be nice to give my contacts a heads up. :)

Hey rrhrn, have you registered for class yet?

ChelleLynn, IF you worked in a hospital or nursing home, i believed you could talk to any of NP and see if they could work with you.

How was the fundamental class, did you like it?. wow, health assessment, shouldn't be tough, well in nursing school, it was the easiest class for me, Thank God.

I am also starting July 7th. I am nervous about going back to school but excited as well. Starting with one class, NR500, of course, but hope to take two classes in September.
