I'm in St. Louis. I have taken all but one of my prereqs at SLCC and I have applied to Maryville U. Weekend College BSN program for the fall of 2008. I would like to find a job in a local hospital for someone with no healthcare experience (taught for 6 yrs. and now switching careers), so wish me luck with that. I am a little intimidated about starting a new career in my 30's with little ones at home, but I am determined and excited!

i'm pretty local here, too. i had submitted online resumes to a lot of the larger hospitals while i was still working in my it job and heard nothing. i've since figured out after doing an internship this summer and transitioning to a tech position that the hospitals are hiring like mad and love nursing students. call the hospitals directly and either speak to someone in hr or the nursing recruiters. they love nursing students and will work hard to accommodate your schedule. we have quite a few in our class who are techs in several of the hospitals here in town.:)
good luck all -- and go cards!!! make sure you check out the missouri forum; we could use some more action over there!!
