:)Did anyone sign up for Microbiology at MCC for the 6 week summer session? Is this a crazy thing to do? This course is usually 16 weeks and I believe the instructor is somewhat tough. This is the only course left that I need and I'd like to get it out of the way now, but a good grade is more important. Or should I just wait til fall? If your signed up and want to start a study group let me know.:)
Dear Deb Laf,
Cograts on being accepted. I can't PM yet because I don't have enough posts yet. Anyways, don't sweat the small stuff. There's a test that can be done at your Drs. office that can tell which antibodies you have, and that will confirm your vaccines. Trust me--I don't think many of us had access to that kind of info. I know I didn't.
Other than that I'm loving school. Granted it's extremely tough--believe every word they say at orientation. But also know that you can do it, and know that everyone has their moments of breaking down and feeling like "What did I get myself into." Some are just better at hiding it than others.
Hi Leea78,
Yes, I think we are in the same class and the instructor is Michaelwicz. Sounds like he is tough, but interesting. I did not get the new book, I am going to try use the 5th edition. I would like to take a look at that book and compare to see just how different it really is. There is also a website listed in the book that is pretty helpful. If you want to get together to study pm me.
Dear Deb,Have you had orientation yet? Do you know your start date yet? Right now there is not a lot you can do to prepare, a couple more public posts and I can PM you. I can get you more info then.
The orientation is not until May 20th. I was ranked #11 so I think I should be able to start in Aug. if I am understanding it right.

I took micro last summer - wasn't really too bad. I have heard that patho is a little easier than general (I took general) but general microbiology transfers more than patho.
Good luck
