Are you sure you are defining "base pay" in the same way?
You might be meaning "new grad base pay" and they may be meaning "base pay for the average nurse (at all experience levels) before shift differentials are added." I think they mean the base pay of all of the nurses who responded, not just the new grads.
I doubt the base pay of the average nurse at LGH is only $24. The nurses with many years of experience have a base pay much higher than that.
On this page you can sort the data different ways. It looks like younger nurses average about $27/hour in PA, while more experienced nurses are making about $5 more.
Are you serious? $27/hr for a NEW nurse? Where? And how expensive is living there? B/c I will get less then $20/hr to work as a new nurse. BIG difference. Living is cheap here.

HI
Advance for nurses magazine just put out an article that says the PA nurses base salary avg is $30./hr. I work at LGH in Lancaster it is a large magnet hosp and we just got a cost of living raise but even with that our base pay is $24/hr. Just wondering what the base is in other hosp.
