Hello. I just graduated with my ADN in May of 2013. I was just blessed to get a job in a hospital in Rockford, IL (which is almost unheard of in IL getting a hospital job without a BSN). I want to get back and get my BSN out of the way and was wondering if anyone has gone to or is going to WGU currently. Any issues, good or bad, advice, or any trouble with only being able to get a 3.0.....THank you for your time!!!
I am currently in my last stretch of my MSN-Education at WGU. I also received my BSN through WGU and am so happy with my choice. I will leave you with a few of the examples that make WGU excellent:
1. Competency based curriculum
2. Your own personal mentor to check in on you and advocate for you
3. Course mentors
4. Student based message boards
5. E-books and materials
6. WGU online library
7. Taskstream
8. Price of attending (outstanding!!!!)
9. 6 month terms= complete as much as you can in that term and not pay a dime more!!!! EXCELLENT!!!
10. Fantastic learning experience!!
Hope this help! There is a lot more of what I personally appreciate of WGU. This is the tip of the iceberg.

FWIW, plenty of WGU grads have gotten into NP programs - haven't heard of any denials, as a matter of fact. But yes, if the one you want to apply to requires higher than a 3.0 that could definitely be a problem! :)
