ugh ok last week i got a call about setting up an interveiw to be a unit secretary. i was in the middle of taking a test when the lady called and couldnt answer when i got outa class it was very late at night. i called back the next day and no answer called all week (got the call on a wednesday) called all weekend, left a message, called again still no answer. any ideas on what to do? i really want the job but i cant get in touch with anyone, its so annoying

Go in person, dressed for success.

I think you just found out why they are hiring a unit secretary. :) Maybe call and talk to the charge nurse for the name of a possible 2nd contact.

Call the human resources department.

i would go in person but i honestly dont even know where to go. this hospital does their hiring from a different location and that person directs you to go to an interveiw with the person "in charge". again just made another call and the phone ran and ran and then went right to voicemail. i check the job too and the postition is still open on the web site so i really dont know what to do at this point. i wish i would have just answered the phone the first time because now its beyond hard to get in touch with them ughhhh

I hate to say it but if they're not returning your call then they've probably already filled the interview calendar. Often, when scheduling interviews, they just go down the list until the slots are filled. In the extremely unlikely event that they don't find somebody through the interviews then perhaps they try to add more on.

I hope I'm wrong but that's the way that I've observed the working world to function.
