Ah, EBT....I'm not real familiar with that area....I think it's much more rural than a lot of the interior cities of the STL area, but that's just from driving through. I know that Eureka's very near there and that area has grown tremendously and changed a lot in the 15 years since we moved to STL. I will say I don't hear much of a negative nature that comes from that area on the news.
I hope someone here can answer your question more specifically...if not, prior to our move here, my husband called the local P.D. and asked to speak to either a Community Service Officer or a watch sergeant/commander to make sure we were moving to a safe area.
Also, try to find a top-notch real estate agent if you're buying. Again, I can't be of much help...maybe something like an Angie's List would have someone listed if you don't hear back here?!?!
Right now, the Pacific area is in the news quite a bit due to the flooding down there.....there are links on the websites with pictures
from that area!!
Don't worry, it doesn't always look like that!! Or often!!
I am currently in Iowa taking my pre-nursing classes but I'm moving back to the Saint Louis area. The problem is that I've always lived in St. Louis County, but my son is in the Marine Corps ROTC program here and the only school that has it is the Pacific High School in the Meramec Valley School District and I have no idea as far as housing in that school district. Can anyone help? Please!!!!!!!!!!!!
I live 1 mile outside the city limits of Pacific, and I can tell you that housing varies greatly. I would recommend housing in the Hawthorne subdivision, as homes range from 120's and up and it is a quiet subdivsion and is approx. 3/4 to 1 mile from the high school on Osage. Yes flooding from the meramac can be a problem, but in the Hawthorne subdivision, you won't be affected. Pacific is 18 miles south on HWY 44 from the 270-44 intersection in St. Louis.
