Anyone On Here Just Starting Out?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hey everyone! I'm new here and I'm starting my Pre-Reqs this Fall. I'm super nervous. I'll have just turned 29 when classes start. I've gone what seems like countless years not knowing what I wanted to do with my life. Nursing has been on my heart/mind for many years now and it won't go away! So, I've decided to just go for it.

I've never been real "book smart". I've always struggled in school. The past times I've attended college It just felt pointless to me and I just didn't care. I did enough to get by. This time feels so different though. I want this and for the first time in my life I'm going after something despite my fear.

Is anyone else on here just starting out?

Hi! Im 31, and im taking pre-reqs for an lpn program. My classes start August 21. I'm taking Anatomy and Physiology 1 and a Basic College Algebra class. I would have skipped the algebra class (since I already have a BA degree), but I have to take the PAX-PN January 2013. I want to make sure my math skills are on point so I can pass this entrance exam the FIRST time.

Good luck to everyone with their studies.

I just turned 41 this yr and I started pre reqs last fall. I finally start lpn classes in sept :) I have a 5 yr old and a 15 yr old. You can do this! When it gets tough think of the end result and how great you will feel. I found organizing my home life around school is a great help. My 15 yr old and boyfriend are a great support system. Studying gets done either at night when my 5 yr old goes to bed or while she's in school if I have early days with classes. Good luck to everyone!

I could have written this word, for word, except changed the age to 38 ;) good luck to you, I know we will succeed because we want this!

Hi. I'm 34 and will be starting classes for lpn in January. It's taken me a while to figure out what I wanted to do. What made me decide is I've realized whenever see someone in pain or hurt, I get frustrated because I'm unable to help them. I currently work in HR...not so fulfilling, but I do enjoy helping people however I can. Good luck to you and to everyone and I'm new here so I'm sure I'll be on often when times get crazy! :w00t:

Hi, i'm 27 and my LPN program starts August 20th. I'm super excited and can't wait to start. Some of these threads are scaring me because they keep encouraging for people to go straight to the RN program. I have a family and can't afford to take years off financially and mentally. LPN is my first step towards success :-)
