i am just wondering how difficult other students have found ohio state's bsn program to be...i will be atttending there this fall, and am curious as to what i have to look forward to. i have completed two full years of gec work at a regional campus, so all i have left is nursing classes. i want to work during school, but i don't know if this is feasible considering my family situation (kids, husband, etc..)!!! if anyone has any information; i would be greatful....thanks:)

Concerning OSU...I did 2 years of GEC work as well. Had a GPA of 3.4, and then didn't get into the program. Yeah, that was a let down. But now, am half way through my ADN, and since I had the usual GEC, it will only take me no more then 2 years to get my MSN through Otterbien. So I guess all things work out for the good. :) From what I have heard, OSU Nursing School is typical in intensity as others. I have several friends who have gone and are going there. And with work, right now I am actually going through the process of working at OSU Med Center, I will say, you learn alot that goes along with what you are learning in school. And the nurses you work with, are usually a HUGE help. Atleast thats what I have found in my experience.
Well, the best of luck to you! And don't let the first quarter overwhelm you. Start in Sept, eh? Nothin like Autumn quarter...:)
Enjoy the campus too, thats one things I wouldn't change about the 2 years I went there, its a great campus.

ChickAdee2, how is it coming out at OSU at the College of Nursing, Newton Hall? My old Alma Mater. Got my undergrad there. Your day will come when it's YOUR DAY in "The Ripping of The Blues." Keep your nose to the grindstone.

Hi :) I'm currently a student in OSU's nursing program. They didn't let me into the program the first time I applied, even though I had a 3.4, so I got my GECs out of the way during my freshman and sophomore years and reapplied, getting in with a 3.6 (the busy work of the GECs fluffed up my gpa). So now I get the priviledge of being a 5th year senior and graduating in major major debt, because OSU just loves to rape its students of all their money in any way possible. But when I eventually graduate I also am going to have a fantastic education. Since I don't have to take my GECs along side my nursing courses I have the time to minor in disability studies and also do courses for pre-physical therapy. Best thing about OSU's nursing program, and something I've seen alot of others complain about, absolutely no waiting lists for clinicals. Since there are sooo many hospitals in columbus and just on campus and not that many nursing students we don't have to wait for assignments.
