Anyone Nursing Students On Summer Break?

Published

Wow....school is going to begin in over a month and I'm freaking out a little because I have completely forgotten everything I learned last year!! Anyone else feel that way?

I feel the same...

We get 4 months off (May-labour day) and its early July, and I feel I am forgetting things... it will be different next summer, because I will qualify to work as an employeed student nurse so at least then I will keep my knowledge and get paid... oh well, enjoy the sunshine and rest up next term will be busy!

I would be surprised if people didn't feel that way. Of course, you can't possibly remember everything you learned. Just so you know, many instructors know that students will not remember everything. You do forget things and what you learned in the past you will see again in the future nursing classes.

Yup I've been on summer vacay since April 29th and go back Aug 23rd. I am taking an online class but it has nothing to do with my nursing program it's just for interest, inorganic chem, yup I am a certified nerd. I am not stressing I know I have forgot some things but I kept all of the power points and notes I had from last semester so if I need freshening up on something I will just do it once I start NS again. I deserve my summer vacay and I'm not studying anything on nursing :lol2:

Specializes in Psych ICU, addictions.

I will start my break at the beginning of August, and I don't plan to do a single bit of schoolwork during it. I'll be working and relaxing.

I'm taking microbiology over the summer, so I've been overwhelmed with that. But yes, I feel I've forgotten a lot. My program gave us a guideline of chapters to go over before we go back (8/25). PLUS, they want us to go back to practice lab and practice all the skills we learned because during the first week back, we will be tested on a skill of their choice. :uhoh3:
