wow that is very low. shands pays $35/hour prn pay, according to their website. Baptist South pays $25/per hour prn. I thought that was bad.

thanks!

I may be wrong though. I not totally sure. You should call, they can tell you for sure

Welcome to Florida and its low wages. I hope you don't ever want to work in private duty home care here in Florida. Guess how much Maxim pays their private duty RN'S? $16 an hour. No, this is not a typo.

I just moved from a small town in West Virginia to Jacksonville, Fl. I worked at the same hospital for 15 years. When I left I was making $32/hr with full benefits (plus bonus and shift diff). Our health insurance was free. It was a union hospital and I think that helped keep our pay and benefits up. I knew I would take a pay cut moving to FL, but this is rediculous! Are these low wages typical for all of FL or just Jax?

Other than pay, how do you like working for Maxim?

I do like the fact that Maxim has given me full time hours. I like the fact that overtime is now available in my area. My recruiter has been good to me personally. If you ever decide you want to work with Maxim, please be advised that it is the office staff-the recruiter who decides if you will get a raise or not. If you ask your RN nurse supervisor for a raise she will just tell you to check with your recruiter. My recruiter told me that raises at Maxim are very very rare. He said that the majority of Maxim nurses never get a raise.:crying2:

Yep, Fl has some of the lowest paid nurses in the country, from what Ive heard. Ive been a Fl girl my entire life. I love it here for the most part, Ive started a family here and my entire family is here. I have no fam anywhere else. But Ive slightly considered moving afteri finish school and get a little experience b/c I know I could be making more somewhere else.
