has any of you visited a patient after patient was discharged or kept your friendship with them ???? :icon_hug:

No, I don't.. and I always say it's against hospital policy to give out my phone #.

One little ole lady did give me her phone number. I spent two wonderful weeks as her nurse and felt like I could've sat with her for half my life and still enjoying soaking up her presence. You ever meet someone who you just wish was your own granny? Well I explained to her gently the rules regarding such contact, but agreed to take down her number. I still have it. I haven't made contact with her outside of work. At this point, I don't work in the facility she's likely to use, however she changed her cardiologist to one I didn't agree with. Just that alone could be grounds for some interesting unprofessional discussions, were I to be on friendly terms with her outside of work.

So in this case, while I've refrained, I do feel that we both missed out on something.
