Anyone hospitals hiring new grads for NICU?

U.S.A. New Jersey

Hi, I'm willing to relocate to anywhere in NJ. Does anyone know if they're hiring new grads for NICU?

Thankss

Specializes in LTC.

I am also just graduating from baccalaureate program on Saturday. One of my colleagues told me that Westchester Medical has a position open for a NICU nurse and that they are apparently willing to accept new grads. This info is about 3 weeks old. I know it is not Jersey but it might be worth considering. I suspect this types of positions are hard to find.

Specializes in Currently: Certified School Nurse.

Unfortunately NJ hospitals really arent hiring any New Grads at this time at all. For any position. So a new grad in a specialized unit like the NICU in NJ will be virtually impossible to find. Unfortunately.

Is it possible to gain experience whereever you are now before you come to NJ? The job market in NJ in HORRIFIC right now for new grads. Even LTC facilities arent hiring.

Bad economy + a market completely FLOODED with nurses = NO JOBS. :-(

Thanks Tankweti ! I applied there :) nycnurse, that's just terrible! I thought I'd give it a try... I live in NY and there are no jobs here either. =(

I would seriously consider thinking of trying in NYC (Brookyn, Queens, Staten Island, Bronx) Try SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn it's a teaching hospital as well. NJ is rough for new nurse right now.I know alot of rn's that live in NJ's that go to NYC for work.

Specializes in Neonatal ICU (Cardiothoracic).

Check out Saint Barnabas hospital system. I know Monmouth Medical in Ocean County had a few positions...

Yeah, i'm a baccalaureate nurse. i passed my boards and all. and i've been sitting on my couch getting nothing back from these hospitals. i'm also bilingual, and worked in teh medical field before getting my RN license. the job market rlly sucks.
