Anyone do Home Health and work at hospital

Hello, I am a nurse on a medsurg/tele floor, have been for almost a year. I have always wanted to do home health but interested in still staying in the hospital like for one day a week doing registry. Any nurses out there do registry in the hospital and home health?

Many nurses I have met in home health keep their full time or part time hospital jobs and use home health shifts to add income. It is quite common.

Specializes in Neuro/ Tele;home health; Neuro ICU.

FT working at hospital and PT HH. 4-5 days a week. it does work well as i do my schedule with my patients and i can always accomodate them and take to considerations patient's availability.

Specializes in acute rehab, med surg, LTC, peds, home c.

I just started as a hh nurse ft and I work at the hospital 1day/week or so. I will stay there because I would miss it if I left but dont want to do it ft.

Specializes in Hospice, Ortho/Neuro Rehab, camp nurse.

Great question, this in fact is why I am reading this specialty. I work 32hrs in a hospt. Tele/med/surg, and am seriously thinking about doing some per diem HH. Also thinking about dropping to 24 hrs. I think staying at the hospt for pt or per diem is good to keep the experience up.

Thanks

I agree, I think hospital work ft can be extremely stressful a lot of the time, thats why I was really considering working like 24 hours a week at the hospital and doing part time home health also. I think this will work out great with my kids who are still young.:heartbeat
